Getting started

What age is BolBolo for?
Children aged 3 to 10, from Nursery, LKG and UKG up to Class 5. Each child starts at one of three levels (Little Learners, Explorers or Champions), and a short, playful speaking check fine-tunes it.
Does my child need to read?
No. Every question is read aloud by the buddy, and the youngest children mostly listen and repeat. Older children see the words on screen too, which helps their reading.
Which school boards do you follow?
CBSE (NCERT books) and ICSE, plus the state boards of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal with their own books. Most other states use NCERT books, so those children get the NCERT lessons. If you’re not sure, choose “Other board or not sure” and we’ll use NCERT.
How long should my child use it each day?
About 15 minutes: a warm-up word game, a chat with the buddy, one school speaking task and a daily star. You can set a daily time limit in the parent settings.
Which phones does it work on?
BolBolo is launching on Android and iPhone. Join early access and we’ll tell you as soon as it’s ready.
How much does it cost?
We’ll share plans before launch. Early-access families will hear first.

Learning

Will BolBolo change my child’s accent?
No. Every accent is welcome. Pronunciation practice is about being clear and confident, not about sounding American or British.
How does BolBolo correct mistakes?
Gently. After each answer the buddy praises what went well and fixes at most two things, for example “Yesterday I go” becomes “Yesterday I went”, with a one-line reason in English and in your helper language.
What is the helper language?
Practice is always in English, but hints and explanations can also appear in Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi or Bengali when your child taps “Help me”. You can also choose English only.
Can I use one account for more than one child?
Yes. One parent account can have up to six children, each with their own class, level, buddy name, streak and reports.
Can my child name the buddy anything?
Almost anything. They can pick Alex, Sunny or Kiki, or type their own name of up to 16 letters. We block unkind words.

Safety and privacy

Is BolBolo safe for young children?
Yes, it’s built for them. A parent creates the account and gives consent, children only talk to their AI buddy, there are no ads, and every message is checked by safety filters. Read more on our child safety page.
When does BolBolo listen?
Only while your child is holding a conversation and has tapped the big microphone button. It doesn’t listen in the background.
How is AI used?
An AI language model writes the buddy’s replies, the gentle corrections and the weekly report. The buddy’s voice is made on our own servers. See the privacy policy for exactly what is shared and with whom.
How do I delete my child’s data?
In the app, go to Parent zone → Children → Delete, or delete your whole account in Settings. You can also ask us to delete it.
